A week in review...

As usual, it has been a busy week in the Clawson house. Here are a few highlights...
We met up with my old Rick's roommate Necia, who was in town from Arizona, at the beach in CDM. This picture makes it look like we had great weather. We did not. It was overcast and the water was freezing. That did not stop Addi, she played in the water for almost two hours.
Ian plays basketball every Wednesday night. This last Wednesday, he got home at about ten. I was already in bed with my contacts off. When I do not have my contacts or glasses on, I cannot see anything. My hand in front of my face is blurry. He said he got elbowed in the eye and had a goose egg. I was picturing a small bump. I went to sleep and the next morning when I woke up, put my glasses on and had a good look at him, I laughed out loud. I am horrible, and am still laughing. It is even more purple today, it looks like he has guyliner on. He did, however score 35 points in his game and had eight threes. Player of the game? I think so.
On Memorial Day, we hit up the ward picnic and then took a dip at the Clawson's. Von and his hair had a good time swimming. He starts swim lessons this week with Scott, so we will see if he still likes the water then.Best baby ever, right? One morning, I was cleaning and getting ready for our walk when I found Von sound asleep on the floor. Him and Addi had been watching the old school Transformers movie and he decided it was time for his morning nap. Love it. We also had Kate and Luke's birthday party at My Gym last weekend (great place to have a toddler's birthday btw), but unfortunately the battery on my camera was dead. Addi had a blast and it was great for the parents too.

toyboxtee.com

Our friends Ryan and Stephanie, created toyboxtees.com, making customize tees for our little ones. Check it out! Here is Von modeling his.

Disneyland

Last Friday, I met up with Dan, Jaime and Luke with the kids for a few hours at Disneyland. It is always a good time when we are together. Ian had to work, so I took the kids by myself. Had it not been for Dan and Jaime, I am pretty sure I would have ended up with a missing 3 year old by the end of the day. I quickly realized that there is no way, as much as I would like to think I could handle two kids at Disneyland by myself, that I cannot. Not yet. Thanks guys for all of your help!
Snack break. Addi and Luke would try to hold hands while we pushed them in their strollers. So cute, but probably a little annoying for the people walking behind us.Von, of course, was on his best behavior the whole time.
Love her hair. My kids have so much hair! I am jealous.
Jaime and Addi. We spent a lot of time in the Brother Bear part of California Adventure. It is so great for the kids to run around in.

5 months

Von is five months old this week. He is now sleeping 10-12 hours a night :), enjoying his Bumbo and he plays with toys. He is still huge and has the personality to match. He is so happy, he wakes up in the morning not crying, but talking and singing.
Addi loves her brother.

Von's First Hair Cut

I took Von into the salon today for his first hair cut. It was long overdue, his sideburns were way too long and his bangs almost reached his eyes. His hair has grown in much lighter than when he was born. He did so well, only getting fussy when Chelcie tried to style it. He was over it. We think it turned out pretty cute.
The first cut.
He loves his stylist.
What are they doing to me?
The final product. Can you believe that this kid is only 4 1/2 months old? He is a huge and happy baby and we love him!

Good Job Addi!

For the past few months, we have implemented a reinforcement system for Addi (all of my years doing ABA is paying off). She is really motivated by attention, positive or negative, so we have been using that to our advantage. When she does something good, we reinforce it by giving her a ball to put in her jar. And when the jar filled up, she earned a trip to Disneyland. This has worked out so great. Since we have started this, she has become completely potty trained and more independent and cooperative when we ask her to do things. The naughtiness has decreased and now the threat of losing a ball is enough to change her behavior most of the time. On Monday night she earned her last ball, so Tuesday afternoon, Ian took off a little early and we celebrated by going to Disneyland. It's a bug's life

This is a little long, but funny nonetheless. I was so nauseous by the time we were done.

Last Day :(

It was raining on our side of the island, so we headed into town and went to Ala Moana Beach Park and then shopping and to lunch at across the street at Ala Moana. We were sad to end our trip, but so happy to be able to go back. Hopefully, we will be able to go back soon!

The boys.

Kayaking

Monday, we spent the morning kayaking.  Soon after we got back, it started to rain.  I love it when it rains in Hawaii.  The water comes down in sheets and everything smells so fresh.  It was not raining in Waikiki, however, so we went into town and went to Duke's and did some shopping at 88 Tees.
I got this shirt at 88 tees. Very fitting. If you look at me next to Ian's sisters, I am a ghost, and will always be.
