Tristan's Blessing

The main reason that we all traveled out to Hawaii was to be there for Tristan's baby blessing. It was a beautiful day and we were so glad that we could be there for it. Here are a few pictures from the day. I know that this is a little much, but I just have to document everything, it is the scrapbooker (who doesn't really scrapbook that much anymore) in me.
Father and son.
Hastings family
Can you believe that we are all looking at the camera? Amazing. Miracle.
Plumerias have to be my favorite flower. I love them, they smell divine and they always remind me of Hawaii.

When we got home from church, Addi decided to do a little reading.  She took Papa's book and glasses and sat for the better part of an hour, "reading."
Addi refused to show off her skills in the pool.  She would jump in, but swimming was out of the question for her.
Posing for the camera.

Beach Day

We spent the better part of Saturday at Kailua Beach. It was about a five minute walk from the house we were staying at. We had great weather all day and made the most of if playing in the sun and sand.

They built a moat for Addi.
Von beach ready.
My dad has had some issues with melanoma the past few months. He is fine now, but it has made me much more aware of protecting mine and the kids skin from the sun. Surprisingly, Addi was really cooperative, wearing her hat, sunglasses, and rash guard most of the time.

Day 2

Our second day there, we drove North Shore, my favorite part of the island. I have made that drive countless times and have memories on every beach along the way. We first stopped at Valley of the Temples and then at Chinaman's Hat. We made our way up to Laie. I could have shed a tear I was so happy to be there again. We drove around campus, the big circle and little circle. Alumni, you know what I am talking about. And stopped at the temple. Then temple is under construction, but the visitor's center is all new. I wish we could have spent more time there, walked around campus, but there was too little time in the day. We drove up to Haleiwa and had lunch and then went to Dole.

Cutest kid ever. Right?
Addi is really into posing for the camera. She was letting the fan blow her hair.
Valley of the Temples. I had actually never been there before, so it was neat to do something new. It was so pretty there.
Running free.
Buddah and the Clawsons.
Brooke and Tristan.
Home Sweet Home in Laie.We like big glasses.
Addi and her Auntie.
The girls. If the flower is on your left it means you are married, the right, not.
The guys enjoying the best pineapple ever.
When we got back, we walked to Kailua beach to get in the water. The water was even warm enough that I got in.
On one of our last days there, Ian, Chelcie, Bronson, Brooke, Armando and I kayaked to the island you see on the left in this picture. It was so far. Definitely a good workout.

Aloha! Day 1

Last week we went to Hawaii with Ian's family to be there for Tristan's baby blessing. It was a great trip and it was so goo to be back on the Island after four long years away. It brought back so many good memories and made me realize how much I miss it. I would move back in a heartbeat. Here is a recap day by day. Sorry if it is a lot of pictures, it was hard to choose, there were so many fun ones!
Addi in the airport in Honolulu. It is such a great feeling walking off of the plane. You are immediately hit by the humidity (great for me, maybe not for other people), I love it.
Addi was so excited to go to Hawaii because she thought she was going to see Barack Obama (because she knows that he grew up there). When we would ask her who she was going there to see, she would say, "Sasha and Malia."After a long flight.
Cousins. Both of my kids did great on the plane. Thank goodness for IPods. We uploaded some of Addi's show onto "her" IPod and she was set. And Von slept most of the way. The flight could not have been any better.
The Clawson Clan. When we got in, we picked Shandra and Tristan up at their house and went to the Tea House in Manoa for lunch.

Happy Easter!

We went up to Lake Arrowhead for Easter last weekend. It was nice and relaxing, I actually got to take a nap (one of the highlights for me).
Chelcie helped Addi dye eggs.
She was so proud.
Addi got her first massage from her Aunt Brookie. We love Brook's hands! She is amazing. When she is done with school, you must all experience one of her massages.
Von turned four months old on Easter. He is such a strong boy, Ian propped him up in this picture, but he is able to stand well on his own. He had his four month appointment on Friday. He was 15 pounds 12 ounces, in the 70th percentile for weight and 25 inches long, the 80th percentile for height. He is going to be a basketball player.
Our pretty girl.
Addi loves her brother. She is so sweet to him, she makes him laugh and is always very attentive to him.
Mommy's boy. His hair is out of control. I have been thinking about cutting it. It is just hard to make the first cut. We didn't cut Addi's hair until she was almost three. I vow not to go quite as long with Von.
Addi's Easter egg hunt. She was excited about her pennies and M & M's. It will be fun someday when Von can join her on the hunt.

The funny thing...

...about this outfit is that this is Addi at 14 months, just learning how to walk and Von wears it NOW! At not even four months, he is in clothes anywhere from 6 months to 12 months, and this little sleeper fits him perfectly.

FYI...

We have new dresses. Check them out at shabbyapple.com. For $10 off, enter SAEaster209 at the checkout. There are these plus a few more. Enjoy and order now to receive them before Easter.
